ASSE Backflow Prevention Assembly Repair Course and Exam

Starting in June 2025, this course, and other courses related to cross-connection control and backflow prevention, are being offered in partnership with Madison Area Technical College (Madison College). We will provide the same high quality training, but Madison College will be handling course registration and course coordination.

The ASSE Backflow Prevention Assembly Repair Course and Exam is intended for those who already have ASSE Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester certification who need an ASSE Backflow Prevention Assembly Repairer certification (ASSE 5130).

This certification is required for Minnesota Licensed plumbers who want to obtain a Minnesota Backflow Prevention Rebuilder Certification

Learning Outcomes:

  • Review backflow prevention assembly terminology, applications
    and limitations.
  • Learn about tools and techniques that will help you to repair
    backflow preventers efficiently and effectively.
  • Practice repair hands-on with actual assemblies of several
    types from a variety of manufacturers.

Who Should Attend:

Plumbers and cross-connection control testers who already have the ASSE Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester certification and who need to earn an ASSE Backflow Prevention Assembly Repairer certification (ASSE 5130).

    Benjamin J. Jordan, PE, is a program director with Interdisciplinary Professional Programs in the transportation sector. He has over 35 years of experience in civil engineering and public works. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign and a Master of Public Affairs degree with a Certificate in Public Management from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Illinois.
